It is located in Peggy Guggenheim's former home, Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, on the Grand Canal in Venice. Scuola di San Rocco and Scuola di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni Two of the distinctively Venetian institutions known as the Scuole (schools) that retain some of the outstanding examples of Italian Renaissance art and are not part of the standard tourist beat but well worth a visit are "the Scuola di San Rocco", hosting pictures by Tintoretto, and "the Scuola di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni", filled with the work of Carpaccio. |
